Beatrice (McKenzie) Hickman

Mrs. Beatrice McKenzie Hickman, 83, wife of the late Peter Winston McKenzie, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at her home after an illness.

Mrs. Hickman was born September 29, 1934, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Randall Driggers and Bessie Filyaw Driggers. She was a member of Cornerstone Ministries.

Surviving are her daughter, Eva Jean (Michael) McKenzie of Lake City; grandchildren, Jason (Ann) McKenzie of Lake City, April (Danny) Gibson of Coward; sisters, Hazel (Paul) Parrott of Timmonsville, Thelma Miles of Lake City, step-sons, Charles (Sheila) Hickman of Turbeville, Joey Hickman of Sumter; step-daughter, Lisa Bryant; great grandchildren, Dylan McKenzie of Lake City, Charlie Floyd and Lizzie Floyd, both of Coward;  and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hickman was preceded in death by a son, Jerry McKenzie; brother, David (Ernestine) Driggers, and sister, Cholee (Sam) Sims.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Cornerstone Ministries, 1900 New Zion Road, Lake City, SC. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will be private at New Town Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake City.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M., Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Cornerstone Ministries.
