Winnie (Johnson) Wise

Winnie Johnson Wise, 71, wife of Brantley S. Wise, Sr., died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House after an illness.

Mrs. Wise was born on October 13, 1949 in Horry County, SC, daughter of the late Ebb Johnson and Bell Jones Johnson. She was a graduate of Floyds High School and Florence-Darlington Technical College. Mrs. Wise attended Williams Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Hemingway.

Surviving are her husband, Brantley S. Wise, Sr.; children, Pamela (Andy) Taylor, Kim Gray Taggart, Rick Fields and Bradley "Doddle" (Lisa) Wise, Jr.; grandchildren, Danny (Erika) Owens, Anthony (Hanna) Owens, Rebecca (Eric Parker) Taggart, Joshua Taggart, Megan Taggart, Robert Taggart, Wesley Taylor and Karleigh Taylor; great grandchild, Ramona Parker and one on the way, Hudson Owens; adopted daughter, Melinda Matthews; brothers, Joseph (Sarah) Johnson and James Brooks (Ruth) Johnson.

Mrs. Wise was preceded in death by her brothers, Lester, Roger Dale, Randall Wayne, Major, Leon, EBB Jr. and Ed; sisters, Corine, Shirley, Shelby, Mary, Bea and Lorrine.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home.
