Willie Mae (Norwood) Gallegos

Willie Mae "Teenie" Norwood Gallegos, 78, wife of the late Pedro "Pete" Julian Gallegos, passed away on November 11, 2020 in Sacramento, California.

Teenie was born January 11, 1942 to Willie Norwood and Lila Mae Kirby Norwood in Scranton, South Carolina.   She moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1974 and was the first female employee on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline where she worked in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska until she retired in 1987.  She moved back to Olanta, South Carolina in 1990 where she was active in politics. She was passionate about being a Lady Shriner and was a lifelong member of Faith Holiness Church in Scranton, S.C. which she named her beloved little teacup poodle Faith after the name of her church. In 2016, she moved to Sacramento, CA to live with her eldest daughter Tabatha Vogelsang.

She is survived by her daughters, Tabatha (Rick) Vogelsang and Tonya (Jeremy) Brownlie; her grandchildren, Lauren (Adam) Rocheleau Jones, Megan (Dustin) Vogelsang Miller, Jordan Brownlie, Roman Vogelsang and Brandon Hazlett; and her great grandchildren Aiden and Gaven Jones.

Teenie is preceded in death by her sister Annie Ruth “Dottie” Miles, her brothers Willie “Bo” Norwood, Larry Norwood and her baby brother Harry Norwood and the love of her life, her husband, Pedro “Pete” Julian Gallegos.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Faith Holiness Church, Scranton. Private burial will be at Matthews Cemetery, Lake City.  

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 22, 2020, prior to the services at the church.
