Willette Poston McCutcheon

Willette Poston McCutcheon, 98, widow of Sam Zollie McCutcheon Jr., died Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Woodruff, SC.

Mrs. McCutcheon was born on November 22, 1922, in Florence County, daughter of the late Willie Poston and Wilma Gause Poston. She graduated from Lake City Schools and attended Cameron United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and caregiver.   Willette was also a sitter who cared for many Lake City residents including her husband until his death.  Most importantly she was a Mom and Grandma.  She loved the outdoors, planting flowers and gardens and was an animal lover, especially peacocks.  Willette enjoyed sewing and cooking and spending time with her family, often spoiling them with her desserts

Survivors include her children, Mary Frances Dill of Woodruff and Mack A. (Freda) McCutcheon of Lake City; 5 grandchildren, Fran (Sonny) Yoo, Jean Wood, Charles Snow, Jessica McCutcheon and Matthew (Kasey) McCutcheon; 6 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. McCutcheon was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Addi McCutcheon; siblings, Charles Poston and Libby P. Snowden and son-in-law James Snow.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Lake City Cemetery.
