Tony Taylor

Anthony Lee "Tony" Taylor, of Greeleyville, SC died on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.

Tony was born on September 2, 1958 in Berkeley County, SC.  He was the son of the late Charles E. Taylor and Cora Lee Mims Taylor of Russellville, SC.  Tony was a 1977 graduate of Williamsburg Academy in Kingstree, SC where he was very active in all sports activities. Basketball was his game of passion.  He attended the University of South Carolina and remained an avid Gamecock fan for the remainder of his life.

He was a Land Surveyor by trade.  He worked for Sur-Tech in Myrtle Beach, SC early in his career and later moved to Rock Hill, SC where he worked for R. Joe Harris and Associates for many years.

Tony loved anything outdoors.  He loved fishing, basketball, football and being with friends and family.  He had a natural love for animals and loved the company of his loyal dog, Ellie.

Tony is survived by his son, Joshua Lee (Michaela) Taylor of Simpsonville, SC;  brothers, Charles (Rhonda) Taylor of Lexington, SC, Keith (Lynn) Taylor of Johnsonville, SC, John Mims of Sumter, SC and one sister, Cheryl (Don) Crites of Pamplico, SC; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by one sibling, Ronnie Lewis Taylor.

A memorial service will be announced by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the McLeod Hospice House of Florence, SC 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506.

The family would like to thank the McLeod Hospice House for the loving and comforting care they gave to Tony during his time of illness.
