Sybil Springs Obituary

Sybil Yarborough Springs, 90, wife of the late Willie Leroy Springs, died Friday, November 27, 2020, at her residence after an illness.

Mrs. Springs was born on January 10, 1930 in Florence County, daughter of the late Zanders R. Yarborough and Nettie R. Lee Yarborough. She was a member of Stone Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 50 years, where she taught a children's Sunday school class. She also enjoyed singing specials in church and writing poems for various occasions. She was a homemaker and for many years used her sewing skills to make most of her clothing. She had a great love of gardening and canning, growing beautiful flowers and was an excellent cook. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Franklin "Stein" Springs of Effingham, Sherry Springs McClary of Lake City and Chris (Elizabeth) Springs of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Andrea Springs, Lisa (Maxie) James, Jason (Fran) Springs, Travis (Christina) Springs, Brent Lee, Amanda (Matthew) Sneed, Terri (Chris) Gibbons, Anna (Corey) Coker, Franchesca (Gene) Baker, Demetrius, Leighton and Jacqui Devore; great grandchildren, Andrew (Joye) James, Gavin James, Rebecca (Hunter) Woodberry, Chris (Caitlyn) Prentice, Micah and Conner Springs, Cohen and Landry Springs, Macie Evans, Chelsea (Richard) Borges, Jonathan Lee, Blane and Aubrey Springs, Elijah, JT, Katherine and Hadlee Gibbons, Emily Coker, Dillon and Gavin Baker; great great grandson, Chandler Prentice; siblings, Jeanette Robinson, Jack (Ann) Yarborough, Larry Yarborough and Rachel Stone, all of Coward; daughter-in-law, Kathy Springs; sister-in-law, Eloise Wilson; nephew, William Fennell, who she was especially close to and called "Son Bear"; many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Springs was preceded in death by her children, Johnny, Stephen, Sheila, Roger and Mickey; a granddaughter, Doreen Springs; a grandson, Ryan Coker; brothers, Randall, Harold, Charles and Gene Yarborough and a sister, Martha Yarborough Carter.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Stone Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pamplico. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Pamplico.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

The family would like to express our appreciation for the care and concern shown to our mother by Heather, Barry and Chaplain Terry of McLeod Hospice. Also, for the loving care of her caregivers Ruth, Shirleen, Janet, Kathy, Ann, Faye, Helen, Edith and Stacey. We all share some very special memories of our times together.
