Scott O Cantey

Mr. Scott O. Cantey, 57, husband of Tammy Powell Cantey, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 after an illness.

Scott was born September 5, 1962, in Beaufort, SC, son of the late Ronald O. Cantey and Pansy Kirby Cantey. He was a Body Shop Mechanic at King Cadillac in Florence.   Scott attended Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Scott was a passionate man. His love for horses, trail riding, and fast cars led to many lifelong friendships. He was well known among his friends as an honest and selfless man who would give others the shirt off of his back.  He adored his four grandchildren and spent his last days surrounded by the love of his family and friends.  

Surviving are his wife, Tammy Powell Cantey of Coward; son, Lance (Whitley) Weatherford of Scranton; daughter, Kacey Cantey of Coward; grandchildren, Razz Montgomery, Izzy Sauls, Nolan Weatherford and Laine Weatherford; brother, Cliff (Faye) Cantey of Lake City; sister, Rhonda Lockamy of Lake City; father-in-law, Billy Powell of Coward; sister-in-law, Billie Ann (Steven) Welch of Coward.

Mr. Cantey was preceded in death by his godson, Mason Powell and mother-in-law, Patricia Ann Powell.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial to follow at Bible Temple Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home.
