SC Floyd

SC Floyd, 71, of New Zion, husband of Jean Flowers Floyd, died Monday, January 3, 2022, at MUSC Health, Florence.

Mr. Floyd was born on March 13, 1950, in Florence County, son of the late Willie Bethea Floyd and Lilly Mae Welch Floyd. He was a graduate of East Clarendon High School and was a member of New Hope Christian Church. Mr. Floyd retired from Firestone but his lifetime passion was farming. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Jean Flowers Floyd of New Zion; daughter, Diane (Chet) Coker of Scranton; son, Stephen Floyd of Turbeville; grandchildren, Joel Coker, Abbie Coker and Dalton Stanley; siblings, David (Patricia) Floyd, Lavell (Eddie Lou) Floyd, Eula Mae (Melvin) McElveen, Neilerie Miles and Thaydell Pate.  

Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by siblings, B.W. Floyd and Alberta Thigpen.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at New Hope Christian Church, with burial to follow at New Hope Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.
