Obituary
Mr. Ronnie Howard Ard, 77, of the Salem Community in Pamplico, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
Ronnie was born on January 16, 1946, in the Friendfield Community of Florence County, son of the late James Clinton Ard and Ila Poston Ard. He was a graduate of Pamplico High School and was a member of Prospect Methodist Church. Ronnie was known affectionally by many as the “Boatman”, worked as an outboard motor mechanic for 40 years and was also a competitive boat racer. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying squirrel hunting, deer hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his sons, Jason Ard and Clint (Laura Brown) Ard; grandson, Wyatt Ard; brothers, Jerry Ard and Edward (Evelyn) Ard; and sister, Diane Cole.
Ronnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Adriane Ard; brothers, Wayne Ervin Ard and James Clinton “J.C.” Ard; and brother-in-law, Murray Cole.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Prospect Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Prospect Methodist Church, 1256 Big Swamp Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.
