Phillip Preston Poston

Phillip Preston Poston, 89, husband of Linda Owens Poston, died Saturday, November 27, 2021, at his residence.

Phillip was born on July 8, 1932, in the Hannah Community, son of the late Harley McCray Poston and Gussie Turner Poston. He was married to the late Doretha “Rebe” Creel Poston. Phillip retired as a truck driver for Florence County Public Works. Mr. Poston attended Scranton Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a faithful member.  Phillip enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and famous for his chocolate cake, Jelly and fruit cakes. Mr. Poston was always laughing and playing jokes on people.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda Poston of Scranton, are his step-daughter, Michelle Miller of Lake City; brother, Maxie E. Poston of Florence; sister, Alberta Poston Ridgell of Florence; raised as a brother, Terry Poston of Georgia; nephew, Billy Daniels of Florence.

Mr. Poston was preceded in death by his siblings, James Poston, Hasford Poston, Vivian P. Hodges and Ruth P. Allen.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Pamplico.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
