Guy Michael "Mike" Evans, 70, husband of Sumiko Gaja Evans, died Friday, October 23, 2020, at Springdale Health Care, Camden.
Mr. Evans was born on February 22, 1950 in Charleston County, son of the late Robert Benjamin Evans and Leona Calder Evans. Mike graduated from Moultrie High School in Charleston County. After retiring from United States Air Force, Mike worked with the Employment Security Commission and later the United States Postal Service. He attended Tabernacle FWB Church in Coward and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Sumiko G. Evans of Pamplico; daughters, Karen Michelle (Randy) Driggers of Lake City and Amy Danielle (Chris) Earle of Simpsonville; grandson, David Michael Driggers; siblings, Bobbie (Ronnell) Burgamy of Mims, Fl, Finley Cullie Evans, Sr. of Goose Creek, Joanne Kwasniewski of Savannah, GA, Faron C. (Ann) Evans of Rock Hill and Carroll G. Evans of Scranton.
Mike was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Michael Evans.
Funeral services , with Full Military Honors, will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 26, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Tabernacle FWB Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
