Mary Joyce (Ammons) Miles

Mary Joyce Ammons Miles, 72, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Miles was born on October 31, 1948 in Williamsburg County to the late Woodrow C. Ammons and Hazel Gray Ammons. She retired from Delta Mills in Pamplico and attended Bible Outreach Church in Scranton. Mrs. Miles loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was Mama to Tabitha “Tabby” (Howard) Nettles of Scranton; MeMa to her grandchildren, Courtney (Jamison) Melton of Scranton, Jamie (Matthew) Werling of Conway and Spencer Nettles of Scranton; MeMa to her great grandchildren, McKinley & Addison Melton. She was also survived by her siblings, Charles G. Ammons of Scranton, Anne Barr of Scranton, Helen (Bruce) Tanner of Cades, Nell (Bobby) Pate of Coward, and Russell (Patricia) Ammons of Scranton; many nieces and nephews, a special niece, Sarah Tanner.

Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her siblings, Woodrow “Buddy” Ammons and Judy Cameron.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at Cades Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home and other times at the home of, Courtney (Jamison) Melton, 1341 McKnight Road, Scranton.
