Margie A. Driggers, 70, wife of Don Driggers, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at her home in Florence, after an illness.
Mrs. Driggers was born on September 16, 1951, in Johnsonville, daughter of the late Jessie Cleo Ard and Callie Mae Stone Ard. She retired from Pee Dee Mental Health Center, where she worked for over 25 years. Margie was a member of the Effingham Church of God, where in earlier years she was a Sunday School teacher and enjoyed singing in the choir, before her health declined. Mrs. Driggers always made you laugh, loved to read, go to the beach, was the family confidant, knew everyone’s secrets, and was always willing to share her wisdom with others.
Surviving is her husband of over 50 years, Don Driggers; son, Don Edward Driggers, Jr. of Myrtle Beach; grandsons, Micheal Smith, Sage Driggers, both of Myrtle Beach; great grandson, Wyatt Briggs of Myrtle Beach; siblings, Glenda Morris of Hemingway, Billy Ray (Jennifer) Ard of Beaufort, Jenny (Otis) Dewitt of Effingham, Danny (Kim) Ard of Athens, GA, Anita Branton of Florence; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Driggers was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie L. “Buddy” Ard.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Leo Church of God Cemetery, Lake City.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the funeral home.
