Mrs. Leila Floyd Mims, 92, widow of the late Odell Mims, died Monday, August 8, 2022 at her residence, Pamplico.
Mrs. Mims was born on February 6, 1930, in Clarendon County, daughter of the late J.D. Floyd and Etta Beard Floyd. She was a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Adult Sunday School Class and the Ladies Auxillary. Mrs. Mims formerly worked as a supervisor for Wentworth Manufacturing.
Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Floyd (Billy) Ard of Pamplico; grandsons, Reverend Scott W. (Jenny) Ard of Pamplico, Rusty F. (Beth) Lee of Florence and Brad W. (Lisa) Lee of Effingham; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; son-in-law, Everette McElveen.
Mrs. Mims was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Frank W. Floyd; son, Ronnie W. Floyd; daughter, Carolyn Floyd Lee McElveen; siblings, Martha Floyd McElveen, Kathleen Floyd Frye, Myrlene Floyd Smith, Mary Floyd Whieldon, Robbie Lee Floyd and Delbert Floyd.
Funeral services will be 5:00 PM, Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at New Town Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake City.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.
