Laina Joyce Matthews

Laina Joyce Matthews, 60, wife of Kenny Matthews, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Matthews was born on March 27, 1960 in Florence County, daughter of the late Larry Powell and Deloris Jones Powell.

Surviving are her husband, Kenny Matthews; daughter, Brooke Matthews (Janson) Price; grandsons, Kingston Price and Tate Price; mother-in-law, Gracie Matthews; nieces, Adril (Pat) O'Neal, Annie Evans, Melissa Powell, Angel Haselden and Kimberly Creel; nephew, Joshua (Danielle) Evans; great nieces, Hannah Gray, Savannah Evans, Kaitlyn Creel, Elizabeth Creel, Alexia Miles, Britany Powell and Kera Randolph; great nephews, Johnathan (Ivonne) Mumford, Devon Creel, Jacob Parrott, Jared Randolph, James "Jamie" Haselden, Jacob Haselden and Jace Haselden.

Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her brother, James "Jamie" Powell and sister, Kathy Evans.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday February 20, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Mill Branch Cemetery, Johnsonville.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home.
