Johnnie Lee Cantey, 76, wife of the late Reverend John David Cantey, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at MUSC Health in Florence.
Mrs. Cantey was born on December 17, 1943 in Florence County, daughter of the late Chalmers Cleveland Campbell and Elsie Mae Poston Campbell. She was retired from Baxter in Kingstree and enjoyed working in her yards. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her sons, Scott (Charae) Cantey of Lake City and Michael (Shannon) Cantey of Scranton; granddaughters, Monica (Gavin) Ganes of Lake City; Ashley (Brett) Floyd of Olanta, Anna Cantey of Scranton; grandson, Michael (Hannah) Cantey of Lake City; great grandchildren, Gavin Filyaw, Emma Filyaw and Waylon Floyd; brother, Kenny (Brenda) Campbell of Gaffney; sisters, Connie C. Hovatter Sumter, Don Ella C. (Ken) Sanders of Effingham and Judy C. Moore of Lake City; special friend and caregiver, Lisa Robinson of Effingham.
Mrs. Cantey was preceded in death by her brothers, Hydrick Campbell and Joel Campbell and a sister, Patty Campbell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers at Angelic Home Health Care, Kindred Home Health Care and Dr. David Rodriguez and his staff at Lake City Medical Associates.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, September 11, 2020, at Riverside Cemetery, Pamplico.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
