Jeanette (Matthews) Cox

Jeanette Matthews Cox, 78, wife of Johnny O. Cox, Sr., died Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at MUSC Health in Florence.

Mrs. Cox was born on January 13, 1942 in Florence County, daughter of the late Wallie Matthews and Nettie Anderson Matthews. She was a member of Sand Hill Free Will Baptist Church and Women Active for Christ (Ladies Auxiliary) and a secretary at Young Pecan Company. Mrs. Cox was a great cook, loved fishing and bird watching.

Surviving are her husband, Johnny O. Cox, Sr. of Coward; daughters, Terry C. (Wylie) Greene and Susan C. Granger, both of Coward; son, Johnny O. "Neal" (Nikki) Cox, Jr. of Coward; grandchildren, Douglas O. (Sara) Greene, Kyle (Caroline) Greene, Hannah L. (Michael) Cantey, Seth Granger, Nathan Cox, Tyler Cox and Eli Cox; great grandchildren, Logan Greene and Lucas Greene.

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by a baby girl in 1964.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, November 27, 2020, at Anderson Cemetery, Coward.
