Mrs. Janis Morris Locklair, 73, wife of Ray Locklair, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at her home in Scranton.
Mrs. Locklair was born on March 6, 1953, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Lucious D. Morris and Jeddie Rebecca McElveen Morris. She worked for many years at Avondale Manufacturing and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Mrs. Locklair was a homemaker who cherished her roles as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was especially known for her wonderful cooking and found great joy in preparing meals for her family for as long as she was able.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Ray Locklair; daughter, Robin Locklair (Mark) Hayter; granddaughter, Victoria Brooke Jacobs; grandson, Thomas Chase Jacobs (Breanna Smith); great-grandchildren, Christopher Thomas Knotts, Carson James Knotts, and Thomas Banks Jacobs; special nephew, Dale Wilkes, along with other nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mrs. Locklair was preceded in death by her siblings, L. D. Morris, Jr., Hagood Morris, Carlisle Morris, Chesley Morris and Judy Morris Martin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
