Janie Cheryl (Humphries) Moore

Janie Cheryl Humphries Moore, 73, wife of the late Colin A. Moore, died Friday, November 26, 2021, at Lake City Community Hospital.

Mrs. Moore was born on July 19, 1948, in Hemingway, SC, daughter of the late James Norman Humphries and Myrtice Calcutt Humphries. Mrs. Moore worked at Lake City Lumber Company, for over 40 years and member of Hebron United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She was faithful, dependable, loved yard work, reading, was a wonderful cook and a devoted grandmother.

Surviving are her daughter, Sherelle Purvis of NC; son, Jason Colin (Melanie) Moore of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Heather Purvis of Timmonsville, Megan Purvis of Effingham, Clara Moore of Spartanburg and Benjamin Moore of Spartanburg; brother, Deryl (Amenda) Humphries of Johnsonville; sister, Karen (Reg) Baxley of Lake City.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa H. Graham.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Hebron United Methodist Church, Cades, with burial to follow at Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery, Olanta.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Hebron UMC, Cades.
