Mr. James Liston Goude, Jr., 73, of Hemingway, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee.
Mr. Goude was born on December 3, 1949, in Florence County, son of Rev. James Liston Goude, Sr. and the late Eunice Mae Stewart Goude. Mr. Goude was raised in the Church of God and attended Paran Baptist Church. He retired in 1995 as a supervisor at the International Paper Company Container Division in Georgetown. Mr. Goude loved his family very much and he took pride in providing for his wife, daughter and grandsons. He was a very loving husband to his wife and after retiring, he devoted his time to his grandsons, as he would refer to as “his boys”. Mr. Goude was a loving father to his daughter, always making sure she was okay and that she didn’t need anything. He would often ride his daughter in his LUV Truck with her arm around his neck, with those cute piggy tails and smile. When Mr. Goude wasn’t busy with family, his most enjoyable hobby was planting and growing tomatoes, many would refer to his tomatoes as “James Goude Tomatoes”. He loved and enjoyed the time he spent and shared with his father. These two shared a most precious and special bond a father and son could have.
Surviving are his wife of almost 55 years, Cynthia Mincey Goude of Hemingway; daughter, Carisa Goude (special friend, Johnny Andrews) of Garden City; grandsons, Zakery Coleman Marsh (special friend, Kelsey Connelly) of Andrews and Kevin Zane Marsh (special friend, Olivia Williams) of Hemingway; sister, Peggy Goude (Steve) Land of Cleveland, TN; brother-in-law, DeWayne (Paulette) Mincey of Andrews; special “grandchildren”, Connor and Piper of Andrews; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goude was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Mae Stewart Goude; a brother, Edward Randolph Goude.
