James Frederick Applewhite

James Frederick Applewhite, 89, husband of the late Kathryn Jordan Applewhite, died Monday, February 17, 2020, at Abbeville Area Medical Center, Abbeville, SC.

Mr. Applewhite was born on September 15, 1930, in Wilmington, NC, son of the late William Parnell Applewhite and Mary Virginia Westerman Applewhite. Mr. Applewhite was a retired Machinist with the Railroad.

Surviving are daughter, Anna Ruth Floyd of Lake City and son, Jimmy (Claudia) Carter of Okeechobee, Florida; daughter-in-law, Wanda Carter; grandchildren, Dr. Eric (Bridget) Floyd, Kevin (Megan) Floyd, Carole Michelle Jimenez, Dr. Scott (Shannon) Carter, Eddie (Vickie) Carter; 15 great grandchildren; special friend, Michelle Floyd.

Mr. Applewhite was preceded in death by sons, Barney Edward Carter, Jr and Sherman Carter.

Graveside service will be Thursday, February 20, 2020, 3:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilmington, NC.
