Ireene Johnston, 77, died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.
Ireene was born on July 6, 1945 in the Dominican Republic, a daughter of the late Adam and Elizabeth Smith Lechtenan. She retired as a Professional Interior Designer. She was also a Scuba Diving Instructor and Yoga and Aerobics Instructor. During her younger years she was a very talented Ballerina dancer.
Surviving are her sons; Scott Adam (Deanna) Johnston and Eric (Amanda) Johnston both of Miami; one grandson, Taylor Johnston of Miami, Florida; sister, Rita Alvarez of the Dominican Republic and a brother-in-law, Emelio Icaza of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; many nieces and nephews and the father of her children, Scott Johnston, Jr. of Miami, Florida.
Ireene was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Susan Icaza.
At her request, she will be cremated and her ashes will be spread in the ocean.
