Henry Joseph “Joe” Schroeder, 84, husband of Judith Cox Schroeder, died Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, Kingstree, after a long illness.
Mr. Schroeder was born on December 13, 1936, in Hartford Wisconsin, son of the late Henry Gustav Schroeder and Pearle Vincent Schroeder. He graduated from Hartford High School, Hartford, Wisconsin and Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Schroeder played in the NFL on the first Denver Broncos team. He retired from the textile industry and was an avid golfer.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Kingstree are his children, Randall Joseph Schroeder, Scott Alan (Janie) Schroeder and Holly Marie (Johnny) Marlborough; 2 step children, David Emory (Bet) Watts, III and Mark Steven Watts; 5 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
Mr. Schroeder was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Schroeder, and a brother, James “Jim” Schroeder.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Hebron Independent Church Cemetery, Cades.
