On this day, May 26, 2021, we celebrate the passing of our beloved mother, Eleanor Marie Csernalabics Newcomb.
Mrs. Newcomb was born June 7, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late August & Matilda Kraft Csernalabics. On June 18, 1950, she married the love of her life, the late Walter William Newcomb. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton in Crystal Lake, IL. Mrs. Newcomb loved playing cards, sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by three sons, Warren William (Laurelie) Newcomb, Randall Charles "Randy" (Jona) Newcomb and Walter Andrew "Butch" (Diane) Newcomb; seven grandchildren, Alisa Newcomb, Dawn (David) Carter, Beckie (John French) Newcomb, Mairead (Jared) Taylor, Slaine Cory, Aoibheann (Justin Port) Newcomb and Aonghus (Madi) Newcomb; eight great-grandchildren, Rebecca Dennis, Conlee Dennis, Zoie Carter, Alex Newcomb, Daineal "Jax" Taylor, Arthur French, Iris Port and Augustus "Auggie" Taylor; and brother, August (Elaine) Csernalabics and Steve Dargatz, who was like a son.
Mrs. Newcomb was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ellen Cory; brother, Richard Csernalabics and a sister, Margaret Buttner.
Eleanor will be missed here by all who knew her, but will be glorified in Gods Holy Kingdom.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.
The service will be live streamed beginning at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 11, 2021 @ www.carolinafuneralhome.net
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
