Effie "Annette" McKenzie Obituary

Effie “Annette” Coker McKenzie, 77, widow of Randolph McKenzie, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Annette was born on March 7, 1945, daughter of the late Harmon Coker, Sr. and Odell Floyd Coker.  She was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and formerly cooked at various community stores. Annette attended Floyd Chapel Church. Mrs. McKenzie enjoyed singing with her family, and fishing at the pond with her grandchildren. She was known as a very loving person to all her family and to anyone she met.

Surviving are her children, Janet (Glenn) Porter of Cades, Donna (Tommy) Lee of Cades, and Clint (Wendy) McKenzie of Lake City; six grandsons, Sam Porter (Lance Lane), Calvin (Betsy) Porter, Graham McKenzie, Austin McKenzie, Colby McKenzie, and T. J. (Sheila) Lee; one granddaughter, Kenzie (Patrick) Floyd; eleven great grandchildren, Halleigh Porter, Georgia-Kate Porter, Anabella Porter, Lawson Lane, Braelynn Locklear, Kyndell Locklear, Charlee Porter, Trevor McKenzie, Mack Lee, Griffin Lee, and Sullee Floyd; siblings, Kelly (Elloree) Coker of Lake City, Dessie Frye of Sumter, Rheba (Elbert) Welch of Lake City, Brenda Carraway of Florence, and Elsie McKenzie of Lake City; many nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Brenda Culick.

Annette was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Rogers; brother, Hoyt Coker and a grandson, Caleb Lee.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM, Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at Floyd Chapel Cemetery, Lake City.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Janet and Glenn Porter, 5210 Barrineau Road, Cades, SC 29518.

The family would like thank, Jordan Sauls, NP and Dee Stegall, along with the Staff of Amedysis Hospice for the love and care they gave to their mother.

Memorials may be made to Frierson Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church of Pentecostal Faith Church Building Fund, 2817 West Turbeville Hwy, Lake City, SC 29560.
