Devonne (Teal) Gaskins

Mrs. Devonne Teal Gaskins, 89, of Lake City, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at her home.

Mrs. Devonne was born on October 15, 1933, in Florence County, daughter of the late Jessie Calvin Teal and Leola Gladis Hanna Teal. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and Francis Marion University. Mrs. Devonne was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of Paran Baptist Church, attended New Zion Baptist Church and Grace Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Devonne was gifted with a love for music, she enjoyed playing her piano, singing and often spent time working in her flower beds.

Surviving are her son, Mike (Cheryl) Sauls; step-children, Holly Ostrander, Jackie Creel, Bart (Teresa) Hanna, Evelyn Reynolds, Anita (Rip) Linder and Ronnie (Diane) Gaskins; grandchildren, Tasha Wimberly, Rebecca (Michael) Illes, Tiffany Wallace, Ginger (Jeremy Harris) Cox, Brandy Cox, Cliff Sauls and Darby Sauls; step-grandchildren, Michael (Jan) Creel, Jeff (Nancy) Creel, Misty Loewen, Ashley Cadsawan, Rod Hanna, Will Reynolds, Ley Linder, Liz Asao, Marc (Jesse) Gaskins, Clint (Kristen) Gaskins and Luke Gaskins; great grandchildren, Candace Matthews, Allison Gaskins, River Johnson, Jimi Landen Johnson, Dylan Wallace, Kendall Wallace, Lynzee Wallace, Payton Smith, Paul Smith, Haley (Brandon) Goetz, Bradley Davis, Tanya Parrott, Nathan Johnson, Cooper Sauls and Hunter Sauls; step great-grandchildren, Amanda Creel, Kristin Creel, Bryson Creel, McKenne Creel, Sawer Creel, Jacob Creel, Chianne Loewen, James Loewen, Austin Loewen, Tristan Cadsawan, Brandon Cadsawan, Cara Cadsawan, Jackson Cadsawan, Haley Hanna, T. J. Asao, Martey Gaskins and Cohen Gaskins; great-great grandchildren, Kennedy Wallace, Ava Dew, Mason Dush, William Gaskins, Curtis Gaskins and JayCeon Nelson; brother, Jack Teal; sister, Polly Matthews.

Mrs. Devonne was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Sauls; her second husband, Jack Bert Hanna; her third husband, Fred Gaskins; daughters, Karen Gayle Sauls Wimberly and Brenda Lynn Sauls Gardner; great grandchild, Jake Matthews; great-great grandchild, Haven Dew; grandson-in-law, Kenneth Wallace; step-son, Gary Rodney Hanna; step sons-in-law, Guy Ostrander and Mike Creel; brother, Jerry Teal.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
