David McClam Obituary

David Ronald McClam, 74, husband of Joyce Braveboy McClam, died Monday, August 29, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee.

Mr. McClam was born on September 26, 1947 in Florence County, son of the late Moultrie McClam and Mattie Lee Smiley McClam. He was a graduate of J.C. Lynch High School, and was the former co-owner of Metal Builders of SC. Before becoming disabled, David volunteered with South Lynches Fire Department, Station 2 for many years, serving as Lieutenant. He was a member of Ariel Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and in various other roles.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Joyce Braveboy McClam, of Scranton, are his daughters, Cyndi (Eddie) Matthews of Scranton and Melissa (Gregg) Parkhurst of Lake City; grandchildren, Patrick (Graceyn) Matthews, Nicolas Matthews, Peyton Parkhurst, Preston Parkhurst, Blake (Grace) Matthews and Jesse Matthews; brother, Mike (Yvette) McClam of Calabash, NC.  

Mr. McClam was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Matthews.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Matthews Cemetery, Coward.

Memorials may be made to Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs, 1211 National Cemetery Road, Florence, SC 29506.
