Brunson Evans Obituary

Brunson Evans, 83, husband of the late Audrey Mae Powell Evans, died Saturday, July 24, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.

Mr. Evans was born on September 3, 1937, in Florence County, son of the late Curtis Evans and Lillie Mae Cooper Evans. Brunson served in the United States Army and retired from truck driving. He formally attended New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and painting.

Surviving are his sons, Stevie Evans of Pamplico, Kerry Evans of Johnsonville and Stanley (Deborah) Evans of Manning; daughter, Brandy Evans (Joseph) Long of McComb, Ohio; grandchildren, Brad (Anna) McKenzie, Stephanie (Cody) Peterson, Ashley (Jason) Marsh, Ian Long and Samantha Long; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Freeman (Betty) Evans of Pamplico; sisters, Carolyn Stone of Pamplico and Nora Collins of Johnsonville.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his son, Michael Evan Evans; brothers, C.D. Evans, Eugene “Hambone” Evans and Buster Evans; sister, Faye Baxley.

Funeral service will be 4:00 PM, Monday, July 26, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Old Landing Cemetery, Pamplico.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, July 26, 2021 at Carolina Funeral Home.
