Bobby Gene Floyd

Mr. Bobby Gene Floyd, 68, of Kingstree, husband of Willower F. Floyd, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at MUSC Medical Center, Ashley River Tower, Charleston.

Mr. Floyd was born on February 2, 1955, in Florence County, a son of the late Valsor Floyd and Eliza Miles Floyd. He retired from Farmers Telephone Company after 20 years of service. Mr. Floyd attended Cades Pentecostal Holiness Church, enjoyed hunting, loved fishing, raising goats, working in his yard and making others laugh, but he especially loved his chickens.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Willower Lee Floyd of Kingstree; children, Donna (Pat) Teal of Scranton, Cynthia (Brady) Filyaw of New Zion, Tasha Floyd of Kingstree, Bobby “B.J.” (Andrea) Floyd, II of Kingstree and Crystal (Jamal) Epps of Kingstree; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Runette (Jimmy) Feagin of Kingstree, Timmons (Mary Ann) Floyd of Florence, Dale (Marion) Hayes of Myrtle Beach, Joyce (Leon) Sanderson of Darlington and Wanda Stewart of Myrtle Beach; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Nell Christmas, Homer Floyd, Ola Mae Wilkes, Annie Ruth Fields, V.J. Floyd and Kathy Welch.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Old Piney Grove Cemetery, Lake City.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
