Betty Rose (Matthews) McCutcheon

Betty Rose Matthews McCutcheon, 66, wife of the late Andrew Jamie McCutcheon, Sr., died Saturday, February 22, 2020.

Mrs. McCutcheon was born on December 23, 1953 in Florence County, daughter of the late Harry Lee "Doody" Matthews and Kathleen Carraway Matthews.   After the death of her mother, she resided with her Uncle Pat and Aunt Sybil. She was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and Chris Logan's Cosmetology School. She was a member of Family Worship Assembly in Coward and was a very loving and caring person, always looked forward to seeing her friends and their smiling faces. She enjoyed traveling, crafts and Christmas.  Betty loved her two puppies and dearly loved her family.    

Surviving are her mother, Sybil B. Matthews of Coward; daughters, Kathy (Chad) Snyder of Charlotte, NC, Teresa (Kenny Herring) Dease and Tammy (Stanley) Shady both of Coward; grandchildren, Johnny James "JJ" Dease of Coward, Candice  Dease of Coward, Caroline Rose Snyder and Elizabeth Anne "Libby" Snyder, both of Charlotte and Dustin Shady of Coward; great grandchildren, Kemeri Lee and Johnny Charles "JC" Dease; brother, William "Bill" (Karol) Coker of Ladson, Reverend Warren (Janis) Matthews of Bonneau and Dennis (Wanda) Matthews of Coward; sisters, Sharon M. (Jerry, Sr.) Taylor and Karen (Tim) Smith, both of Effingham; and aunt, Dorothy Dennis of St. Stephens.  

Mrs. McCutcheon was preceded in death by her parents, Harry L. and Kathleen C. Matthews and Elijah "Pat" Matthews; son-in-law, Johnny Dease; and a grandson, Ridge Dease.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Family Worship Assembly, Coward, with burial to follow at Bible Temple Cemetery, Coward.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2020, prior to the services at the church.
