Ann Matthews

Mary Ann Matthews, 70, wife of the late Horace Matthews, died Friday, January 14, 2022, at her residence, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Matthews was born on December 17, 1951, in Florence County, daughter of the late Willie Cameron and Mary Collins Cameron. Mrs. Matthews was a home healthcare nurse, daycare worker and homemaker. Mrs. Matthews was a faithful and dedicated member of Faith Holiness Church where she was Secretary for Women’s Ministry. For 27 years The Encouragement Ministry was Mrs. Matthews way to share her love for Christ.

Surviving are her children, Linda Matthews (Russell) Ridgle, John Paul (Ginger) Matthews, Cindy (Rodney) Gray, Tina (Tim) Matthews Ahrens, Steven Ray (Pauline) Matthews and Pamela (Charles) Miles; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Cameron, Susan Hanna, and Jeanette Hutchinson; special friends, Debra and Billy Feagin.

Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Cameron.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, January 17, 2022, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Lake City.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
