Amanda Ja’net Pate McGee, 40, wife of Kris Keith McGee, died Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Lake City Hospital.
Amanda was born on July 23, 1980 in Florence, SC, daughter of the late Charles E. Pate and LuAnne Haselden Welch. She was a loving mother, had a big heart and was an overcomer through all of her challenges. Amanda loved the mountains and the beach, was a Braves fan, and loved watching drag racing. She won top 100 contributors award in 2009 for writing and was the perfect GiGi.
Surviving are her spouse, Kris McGee of Lake City; sons, Liam (Katelyn) McGee and Will McGee, both of Lake City; brother, Dwayne (Joyce) Pate of Sumter; grandson, Waylon James McGee of Lake City; step-mother, Thayedell Pate of Turbeville; step-brothers, Glen Morris and Ervin Morris, both of Turbeville; aunts, Vicki (Darby) Fulton and Denise (Billy) McKnight, both of Kingstree; mother-in-law, Shelby (Eric) McGee of Lake City; sister-in-laws, Tracey (Chris) Jenkins of Lake City; Stacey (PeeWee) Gaymon of Scranton; brother-in-law, Timmy (April) McGee of Lake City; father-in-law, Charles “Shorty” McGee of Lake City; 5 nephews and 4 nieces.
Amanda was preceded in death by her sister, Gina Welch and grandfather, Alton Haselden.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Pinedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 11, 2021, at the funeral home.
