William "W. D." Dennis, Sr. Obituary

William D. "W. D." Dennis, Sr., 76, husband of Dorothy "Dot" Lee Dennis, died Sunday, January 28, 2018, at his residence after an illness.

Mr. Dennis was born on September 11, 1941 in Scranton, son of the late Nat Dennis and Evelyn Barfield Dennis.  He was a member of Matthews Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Choir Director. W. D. was formerly employed with Vulcraft Division of Nucor in Florence.  

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Lee Dennis of Scranton; son, William D. Dennis, Jr. of Scranton; brother, Tink Dennis of Scranton; and sister, Joyce Dennis Stokes of Scranton.

Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his brothers, Sammy Dennis and Delmus Dennis; and a sister, Jeanene Dennis Miles.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
