Vivian Altman Weatherford, 89, wife of the late Willie Deleon Weatherford, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Heritage Home of Florence.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Scranton United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
Mrs. Weatherford was born on August 30, 1928 in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late James Derrick Altman and Rauzy Blakeley Altman. She was a homemaker and a member of Scranton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Weatherford was a devoted church worker, serving in many capacities including the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was a devoted daughter to her parents, wife to her husband and mother to her four children. Her love and constant care was present every day of her life. She will always be remembered for her famous "fried chicken", that was a request of all her family at every gathering. The children are thankful and grateful for her unselfish giving to those under her care.
Surviving are her daughters, Elaine W. (June) Raines of Irmo and Nancy W. (Joe) Baroody of Florence; sons, James D. (Cathy) Weatherford of Myrtle Beach and Joel R. (Deanna) Weatherford of Friendfield; grandchildren, Calli S. (Kevin) Scully, Joseph M. Baroody, Blakely B. (Samuel) Arthur, Tyler Weatherford, Wesley (Robin) Poston, Reggie Weatherford and Sydney (Justin) Lee; eleven great grandchildren.
