Virginia P. (Poston) Poston

Virginia P. Poston, 90, wife of Bussy Jerd Poston, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Poston was born on March 31, 1929 in Hannah, daughter of the late Luther Jesse Poston and Maude Turner Poston. She was a graduate at Hannah High School and Winthrop College.  Mrs. Poston was a member of Union Baptist Church and retired from Florence County School District 5, Johnsonville.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Bussy Jerd Poston of Pamplico; children, Dr. Jerd (Melinda) Poston of Murrells Inlet, Leah Poston (Richard) Blackmon of Sumter and Jay (Amy) Poston of Charleston; grandchildren, Richard (Stephanie) Blackmon of Columbia, Dr. Caleb (Brittany) Poston of Folly Beach, Ginny (Eric) Moulton of Columbia, Catherine Poston of Myrtle Beach, Rachael Poston of Clemson and Walker Poston of Charleston; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Rhodes of Hannah.

Mrs. Poston was preceded in death by a son, Cully Walker Poston; and her siblings, Georgia Lee Poston, Sarah Lou Poston, Jessie Mae Poston, Watts Poston, John Poston, Paul Poston, Wallace "Bush" Poston, Byrnes Poston and Robert "Pete" Poston.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Union Baptist Church, Pamplico, with burial to follow at St. John Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Pamplico.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
