Vera Ard Sims

Mrs. Vera Ard Sims, 53, wife of Paul D. Sims, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, after an illness. 

Vera was born July 6, 1964, in Florence County, a daughter of Kitty Russ Ard Tidwell and the late James Edward "Jimmy" Ard.  She was a homemaker.

Surviving besides her husband, Paul D. Sims of Lake City; mother, Kitty Tidwell of Lake City; children, John Bradley (Bonnie Hartfield) Ard of Lake City, Ryin (Ricky Wilkes) Watford of Lugoff, and Myshel (Billy Owens) Watford of Lake City; siblings, Eddie (Helen) Ard, Ann (Danny) Tanner and Lorraine (Troy) Hanna, all of Johnsonville; grandchildren, Auriana Martin of Lake City and Veronica Wilkes of Lugoff.

Vera was predeceased by a brother, John Cleo Ard.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Kitty Tidwell, 209 Everette Drive, Lake City, SC 29560.
