Thelma Driggers Miles, 89, of Lake City, wife of the late Charlie M. Miles, died Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Kingstree Nursing Facility, after an illness.
Mrs. Miles was born on October 25, 1927, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Randall Driggers and Bessie Filyaw Driggers. She was employed by Campbells Soup, a housewife and was a member of New Beginning Holiness Church.
Surviving are her children, Mary Lee (Reverend Richard) Floyd of Sumter, Valerie (Mack) Flowers of Lake City, Maedean (Larry) Treadway of Olanta, Wright (Sheron) Miles of Kingstree, and Carl (Donna) Miles of Lake City; a sister, Hazel (Paul) Parrott of Timmonsville; thirteen grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by a daughter, Iona Brown; son, Terry Miles; a grandson, Danny Daniels, great-granddaughters, Allyson Kirton, Elizabeth Olsen and Isabella Olsen; brother, David Driggers and sisters, Cholee Sims and Beatrice McKenzie Hickman.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at New Beginning Holiness Church, 224 Fountain Street, Scranton, SC. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will be private at New Town Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake City, SC.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at New Beginning Holiness Church, Scranton, SC.
