Stephen Lewicki, Jr. Obituary

Stephen Anthony Lewicki, Jr, 69, of Lake City, passed on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at McLeod Hospital. His family and friends were by his side when he drifted off to be with the Lord.  

Mr. Lewicki was born on June 22, 1950, in Derby, Connecticut.  He was the son of the late Stephen A. Lewicki, Sr. and Margaret Marie (Hyde) Lewicki. Stephen graduated from Seymour High School in Seymour, CT, in 1969. He received his Associates Degree at Housatonic Community College in Bridget Port, CT. Stephen worked at Keyrites over 20 years in Seymour, CT and Seymour Board of Education as a custodian for 12 years. He was a supernumery for the police department in Seymour, CT for 10 years. He also worked as a volunteer for the Seymour and Durby fire department for many years. He spent another 11 years in the transportation industry for several trucking companies. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 5194, where he did volunteer work for St. Philips of Lake City, SC. He loved scuba diving and was a member of Civil Defense Rescue squad in Seymour, CT. He was a member of the Wallingford CT Knights of Columbus council #5. His hobbies were boating, gardening, being a neighborhood volunteer and "Watch Dog".

Surviving are his wife of 11 years, Donna (Hart) Lewicki of Lake City, SC; daughter, Kim (William) Wallick of Liverpool, NY, Grandson, William. Son, Stephen (Samantha) Lewicki, III of Waterbury, CT, grandchildren; Brittany, Braiden, Bentley and Gavin, Stepson; Ronald (Angela) McLean, grandchildren; Chloe Lee-Ann and Mason. Brothers; David Lewicki of Scranton, SC and Kevin (Maryellen) Lewicki of Bristow, VA. Uncle Donald (Beverly) Hyde of Ellijay, GA, as well as nephew and nieces and many cousins.

Mr. Lewicki was preceded in death by his parents; Stephen and Margaret Lewicki, Sr., grandparents; Philip and Edith (Haversat) Hyde.

A mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at St. Philips Catholic Church in Lake City, South Carolina. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM on Saturday, prior to the service, at Carolina Funeral Home.

Hickcox Funeral Home, 669 Platt Rd, Watertown, CT, will post wake and burial on their website.

Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown, Connecticut at a later date.
