Ruby (McCrackin) Eaddy

Ruby McCrackin Eaddy, 84, wife of Legette J. Eaddy, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Lake City Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, August 17, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Power-Durant Cemetery, in the Vox Community.  

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Friday, August 17, 2018 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Eaddy was born on May 18, 1934, in Horry County, daughter of the late Bliss McCrackin and Ruby Alford McCrackin.  She was a graduate of Mullins High School and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.  Mrs. Eaddy retired after 35 years as secretary with the James Vernon Epps Insurance Company, and was later associated with Kenny Bryant Auto Sales.  She was a member and past president of the Insurance Women's Association of South Carolina. 

Surviving are her husband, Legette Eaddy of Lake City; son, Marty D. (Charlotte) Eaddy of Vox; granddaughter, Kandice E. (Jonathan) Smith of Scranton; great grandchildren, Raigan C. Smith and Riley D. Smith; sisters, Barbara (Jim) Anthony and Eva (Donnie) Hinds, both of Murrells Inlet and Miriam (Gerald) Smyles of Myrtle Beach.  

Mrs. Eaddy was preceded in death by her sisters, Greta Van Riper and Cynthia Fowler; and brother, Mac McCrackin.
