Raymond Harold Ivers, 75, husband of the late Clydia Mae Lee Ivers, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
Mr. Ivers was born on November 8, 1942 in Lewiston, Maine, son of Walter Ivers and Gladys Foss Ivers. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine. Mr. Ivers retired from the United States Air Force as a TSGT, receiving the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Ribbon with 40LC, National Defense Service Medal and Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 50LC. He also retired from the United States Postal Service.
Surviving are his step-son, Robert Allen (Sandra Quick) Floyd of Coward; grandchildren, Christopher Allen (Ashley) Floyd, Raymond Daniel Floyd, George Codell (Amanda) Ray, Sandy (Doug) Neel and Wayne (Curtis Fox) Mixon; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a nephew.
Mr. Ivers was preceded in death by a great-great granddaughter, Natalie Smith; and siblings, Barrington Ivers, Chester Ivers, Edward Ivers, Jack Ivers, Stanley Ivers, Alice Abbott, Kate Rice, Primrose Ivers and Violet Ivers.
Funeral services will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, SC with burial to follow at Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC with Full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
