Rachael P. Poston

Mrs. Rachael P. Poston, 68, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at her sister's home after an illness.

Rachael was born in the Hannah Community of Florence County, March 20, 1949, daughter of the late James Dorris Poston, Sr. and Nita Prosser Poston.  She was a member of Union Baptist Church.  Rachael was an LPN and worked for Florence General Hospital, Carolinas Hospital and Commander Nursing Center, and was also a Home Health Nurse.  She loved playing the piano and singing hymns.

Surviving is a daughter, Marlene Pitts (Jamie) Maylor of Marion; grandchildren, Sarah Turner, Loren Turner and Timothy Maylor, all of Marion; siblings, Jowendel P. (Pat) Watson and David (Marie) Poston, both of Pamplico, Katie P. (Randy) Haynes of Florence, Robert V. (Lynn) Perry of Pamplico, Gene (Alice) Perry of Livingston, and Michael (Terri) Poston of Conway; sister-in-law, Sylvia Perry Porter of Johnsonville; and a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Rachael was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Pitts; son, Billy Joe Pitts, second husband, Forrest M. "Mike" Poston; brothers, James Dorris Poston, Jr. and Tracy Lee Perry, Sr.; and her step-mother, Dorothy P. Poston.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, December 29, 2017, at Union Baptist Church.  Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Union Baptist Church Social Hall.
