Myrtle Prosser Cockfield, 95, wife of the late W. S. Cockfield, Jr., died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence.
Mrs. Cockfield was born on October 26, 1922 in Florence County, daughter of the late James "Pete" Prosser and Eulalee Turner Prosser. She was a member of Cameron United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary Etta Cockfield (Carlton) Brown of Scranton, Harry Sue (C. J. Gulledge) Cockfield of Wedgefield and Jeanette Cockfield (Curtis) Plowden of Scranton; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren; special grandson, Clay Burroughs and special farm friend, Eddie McCutcheon.
Mrs. Cockfield was preceded in death by a son, Kensey Lynwood Cockfield.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wade Lamb for the tremendous care and concern for our "Mammy", Myrtle Cockfield.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 26, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
