Mary Melinda Floyd, 45, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, at her residence, after an illness.
Mrs. Floyd was born on September 28, 1973 in Florence County, daughter of James Alvin Kelley Floyd and Mary Lou Holloman Mims. She attended Olanta Schools and was a believer in her Savior, Jesus Christ. Melinda enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Ron Duke of Olanta; mother, Mary Lou (Louie) Mims of Lake City; father, Kelley (Sandra) Floyd of Lynchburg; sons, Christopher Strickland and Darren (fiancée, Erika) Strickland of Timmonsville; grandchildren, Travin Strickland and Aubrey Strickland; siblings, Michelle (Brent) Spires of Scranton, Tripp (Kelly) Mims, Melissa Mims and Jessica (Travis) Wilkes, all of Lake City, Samantha Floyd and Susan Coker, both of Lynchburg, and Thad (Loretta) Floyd of Olanta.
Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Floyd; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Buena Floyd; and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Viola Holloman.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, July 15, 2019 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Olanta.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Monday, July 15, 2019, at the funeral home.
