Mary Janel Middleton, 44, passed away Friday, November 23rd, 2018, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, following a brief illness.
Janel was born on December 7th, 1973 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She loved animals-especially dogs. She also enjoyed dancing and cheering. As a teenager, you could find her on the sidelines of the football field on Friday nights, pom-poms in hand, cheering the Western Harnett Eagles on to victory! She was a graduate of Western Harnett High School in Lillington, North Carolina. She was currently enrolled at the University of Phoenix and was employed by Lifeway. Janel was quiet and humble with a huge heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, James Middleton; her parents, Walton Curtis Flowers, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Flowers; her brother, Walton Curtis (Christy) Flowers, Jr.; her nieces, Abigail, Cheyenne, and Anna Cate; her two dogs, Hannah and Gracie, and special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 at Bible Outreach Church in Lake City, South Carolina. Her burial will follow at Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 27th at the church prior to the funeral service.
