Mrs. Lee was born on July 18, 1932, in Florence County, SC, the fourth child of the late George Dewey and Lizzie S. Spring.  She graduated from Elim High School in 1950.  After graduation Margie worked at Sears Roebuck in Florence, SC.  In January of 1953 she married the love of her life, Alva Evan Lee of Lake City.  The two set up housekeeping in Lake City where Alva was employed by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad during which time their first two children were born.  They were then transferred to Charleston where their third child was born.  From Charleston they moved to Savannah, GA.  Several years later Alva's job moved the family back to Charleston where their fourth child was born.  In 1965 the family was able to return home to Lake City where their fifth child was born.  During all these years Margie was a stay-at-home mom and wife.  When her youngest child was four years old, Margie became a Certified Nursing Assistant in addition to her full time job as a wife and mother.  She provided in-home nursing care in the Lake City area as well as private nursing care at Commander Nursing Home in Florence, SC.  Margie enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a committed follower of Christ and was actively involved in the ministries of Lake City First Baptist Church.  She also enjoyed serving in the local VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  Margie was extremely grateful to the members of the Jeffords Bible Class and the Dorcas and Lenora McDaniel Sunday School Classes of the church for their kindness in providing trips to Florence for her chemotherapy during the last three years of her life.

Margie is survived by five children, Kenny (Nita) Lee of Mt. Pleasant, Karen (John) Heller of Monck's Corner, Danny Lee of Mt. Pleasant, Marty (Midge) Lee of Greenville, and Gregg (Susan) Lee of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Evan, Rebecca, Neal, Olivia, Joe, and Audrey.  She has six sisters, Burnette (Garris) McKenzie, Lib (Neal) Yonas, Adlevia (Jerry) Strawn, Julia (Timmons) Floyd, Annette (Butch) Cusaac, and Janette (Lynn) Coward.  She has two brothers, George (Mitzi) Spring and Donald (Donna) Spring.  She has many nieces, nephews, additional family and innumerable friends whom she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was pre-deceased by her siblings, Arnette (Betty) Spring, Duewell (Ruth) Spring and Sudean (Bobby) Hanna.
