Luther James Culick, 92, husband of the late Annie Mae Floyd Culick, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Cornerstone Ministries, Lake City, with burial to follow at Cornerstone Cemetery, Lake City.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Saturday, prior to the services at the church.
Mr. Culick was born on February 12, 1926 in Williamsburg County, son of the late John McClo Culick and Sue Floyd Culick McGee. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired Farmer and Welder. Mr. Luther was a member of Cornerstone Ministries and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father who had compassion for others and opened his home to many in need. Mr. Luther served as a deacon for many years and was a trustee for the historical Piney Grove Cemetery.
Surviving are his children, Dorothy Hutchinson, Judy Hutchinson, Geraldine (Nolan) Lee and James (Tami) Culick, all of Lake City, Wayne (Brenda) Culick of Turbeville, Debbie (Charles) Filyaw of Cades and Joseph (Robin) Mathis of Goose Creek; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty four great grandchildren; and sister, Vidella Hancock of Lake City.
Mr. Culick was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Weatherford; sons-in-law, Laverne Hutchinson, Veignro Hutchinson and Mike Weatherford; granddaughters, Michelle Perry and Tonya Wallace; grandson, Adam Culick; grandson-in-law, Greg Perry; brothers, Carson Culick, J. M. Culick, Albert Culick and Lonzo Culick; and sisters, Talmer Coker, Rosa Lee Feagin, Gladys Bryant and Susan Wheat.
