Hannah:  Lera Stone Poston, 95, beloved wife of the late W.D. Poston of 68 years, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Bethea Baptist Home, Darlington, after an illness.

Mrs. Poston was born to the late Russell and Eula Poston Stone on September 30, 1922, in Hannah, South Carolina. Lera was a lifelong member of Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Bazen's Crossroads, Pamplico, South Carolina. She taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Mamie Bazen Circle for many years.

Lera was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Faye Hancock; sons, Lewis Wesley and Wally DeWayne Poston; daughter-in-law, Faye Bazen Poston; grandsons, Scott and Wally Derrick Poston; granddaughter, Michelle Poston; brothers, Clarmon, R.E., Fred, Lamar, James and Robert Stone; sisters, Della Russell and Kathleen Stone.

Lera is survived by her daughters, Jessine Poston (Homer) Bazen of Bedias, TX and Rosemary Poston Perry of Pamplico, SC; sons-in-law, Russell Hancock of Lawrenceville, GA; Lester Perry of Johnsonville, SC; grandchildren, Annette Bazen (Jim) Keaveny, Mark (Yvonne) Hancock, Susette Bazen (Mike) Richardson, Kristal Bazen (Kurt) Parker, Joel Hancock, Melissa Perry (Jeffrey) Grier, Melinda Perry Martin (Randy Kinard), Ernest (Tracy) Bazen, Walt Perry, Wayne Poston, Jessica Poston (Jay) Floyd; great-grandchildren, Jaymes and Marissa Keaveny, Caroline Keaveny (Jonathan) Rodriguez, Ryland (Courtney) Parker, Savanna Parker, Landen Beckham, Elijah and Noah Bazen, Lauren and Julia Hancock, Rollins and Jarrett Grier, Sydney, Stone and Payton Perry, Karli and Kirby Floyd; great-great grandchildren, Reed Boyce and Jenson Rodriguez; brothers, Jay (Elaine) Stone, Carol (Donna) Stone; sisters, Mae Caplinger, Verda Heritage and Russell Lee Lindberg; nieces, Betty Lynn and Megan Stone; nephew, Russell Stone and a cousin, Wesley Hearne.

Lera loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She always greeted you with a hug and/or a kiss and always said "I love you" when departing ways. She really enjoyed attending Sunday School and Church Services as often as she could.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, will follow in Prosser Cemetery, Pamplico.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, January 5, 2018, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico.
