Legrand Lyerly, 76, of Lake City, SC, passed away at McLeod Regional Medical Center on Sunday, December 30, 2018, after a brief illness.
Legrand was born on August 18, 1942, and was the son of Sarious Palmer "Pete" Lyerly and Lula Eaddy Lyerly of Prospect, SC. He was a faithful member of the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a Deacon for the past 11 years. Legrand was owner/operator of Camerontown Industries where he later retired. He continued to actively maintain his love of farming.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dotty Stone Lyerly; two sons, Russell Legrand Lyerly and Grant Stone (Magan) Lyerly, all of Prospect, SC; six grandchildren, Kaylea Joye Lyerly, Jonathan Russell (Leslie) Lyerly, Sloane Alexis Lyerly, Sydnee Grace Lyerly, Paxton Grant Lyerly and Knox Bishop Lyerly; five great grandchildren, Anna Marlea, Madelyn, Kamryn, Jon Coleman and Miller. Legrand is also survived by one sister, Betty (Randal) Moore; two brothers, Nelson (Emma Jean) Lyerly and Carthen (Armago) Lyerly.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Jerry Lyerly.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church, 213 Half Moon Road, Lake City, SC 29560. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, SC, will follow in the Garden of Devotion, Hwy. 41, Johnsonville, SC.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, January, 1, 2019, from 1:30 – 3:00 PM at Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church.
