Douglas Kevin Grimsley, 55, husband of Sherry Floyd Grimsley, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence.
Mr. Grimsley was born in Florence County on June 12, 1963, son of Reverend Lonnie Grimsley and Effie Rauch Grimsley. He was a graduate of Hannah Pamplico High School and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Kevin attended Shiloh Church of God of Prophecy. He was a truck and equipment mechanic for Precision Pipe Line, Co. and had a workshop in his yard where he enjoyed working on trucks. Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Floyd Grimsley of Scranton; son, Douglas (Shiloh) Grimsley of New Martinsville, WV; grandson, Trace Grimsley; step-grandchildren, Trulynn Norwood, Asher Norwood and Payne Weaver; sisters, Judy (Levon) Broach of Holly Hill and Dianne (Wayne) Varnadoe of Manning; father-in-law, L. C. Floyd of Barrineau and a number of nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Floyd.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Coward.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2019, at the funeral home.
