John "J.W." William Floyd

J. W. Floyd, 64, husband of Cathie Floyd, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence.

Mr. Floyd was born on October 26, 1952 in Sumter County, son of the late Clemus H. Floyd and Myrtle E. Coker Floyd. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church and a former truck driver for Coastal Transport.

Surviving are his wife, Cathie Floyd of Lake City; daughter, Marie (David) Bellflowers of Pamplico; sons, Kevin (Bonnie) Floyd of Johnsonville and Trace (Brittney) Floyd of Turbeville; stepsons, Ryan (Melissa) Wheat of Turbeville and Devon (Amie) Wheat of New Zion; grandchildren, Danielle Stone, J. J. Stone, Brianna Stone, Seth Bellflowers, John Floyd, Nolan Floyd, Steven Floyd, Trayton Floyd, Ryan Wheat, Shelbie Wheat, Katie Wheat and one on the way, (Maggie);  sisters, Connie (Ronnie) Mixon, Darlene Knight and Robin (Junior) Foxworth, all of Lake City; brothers, Reverend Richard (Mary Lee) Floyd of Sumter, Rembert Floyd of Lake City, Wylie (Christine) Floyd of Cades, David Floyd of Lynchburg and Raymond Floyd of Lake City.

Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Clemus H. Floyd and Myrtle E. Coker Floyd; brothers, Elwood Floyd, Lamar Floyd, Herbert Floyd and Don Floyd; and sisters, Kathy Floyd and Paula Anderson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at New Hope Christian Church, New Zion, with burial to follow at McKenzie Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, New Zion.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
